Get a local or toll-free number

Search local or toll-free inventory by area code, then Hold or Request. Dialcove does not purchase the DID, does not charge a card, and does not mark it live.

You can bring a number you already have, or you can pick a new one in the area code callers expect. This guide is the new-number path. The keep-your-number path is Port your business number.

After sign-in, an admin or supervisor opens Numbers. Help phrases “buy a number”, “get a number”, “area code”, “toll free”, and “number marketplace” open Numbers.

Search, then Hold or Request

  1. Enter a 3-digit area code.
  2. Choose Local or Toll-free.
  3. Search.
  4. Hold or Request stores that pick on this company as Held or Requested.

If Twilio Search is configured on the host, Dialcove lists real available numbers. If it is missing or the search fails, the page says so and does not invent results.

What Dialcove never does on this page

  • Does not purchase the DID
  • Does not charge a card
  • Does not mark the number Live
  • Does not write Incoming Phone Numbers

Owned numbers show type (local / toll-free). An admin can assign a line to a queue. Porting stays on Porting.

After you have a line

Publish an attendant so the new DID has a menu — Auto-attendant and IVR. Store a 911 location — Emergency address and 911 location. If you will text from the number, read the 10DLC guide.

Plans that include this search are on Pricing. The short marketing band is on Home and Features.
