Port your business number to Dialcove

How to keep the business numbers callers already know. Dialcove files the port after you confirm. FOC date is set when the losing carrier returns it.

Callers already know your main line. A cloud phone move should not force a new number on them. Keep your numbers — port the DIDs you already have.

After you sign in, an admin opens Porting. Help phrases “port number”, “porting”, “transfer my number”, and “keep my number” open that page. This guide is the public version of the same facts.

What you enter

On Porting (admin):

  1. Current carrier — the company that has the numbers today.
  2. Numbers — E.164, one per line.
  3. Losing-carrier account number and PIN — stored on this company only.

Save draft keeps the worksheet. Confirm — file after this stores status as Submitted.

What Dialcove does — and does not do

We file the port with your carrier after you confirm. FOC date is set when the losing carrier returns it.

Status is draft / submitted / FOC set / completed / rejected. An admin sets it. Dialcove never auto-completes a port and does not call a carrier API from this page.

That is the same copy as the Keep your numbers band on Home and Features.

If you need a new number instead

Porting is for lines you already own. To search a new local or toll-free DID, use Get a local or toll-free number and Numbers. Hold or Request stores the pick — Dialcove does not purchase it or mark it live.

After the port

Assign the line to a queue on Numbers. Publish the attendant on IVR so Press 1 still reaches Frontline. Set the civic address on Emergency address so 911 has a location for the new host — Dialcove stores that address and does not place 911. See Emergency address and 911 location.

Agents do not see Porting. Ask an admin (Ava on the Veterans Promise demo) to start the worksheet.
